By using nickel sulfamate, the film with excellent properties, including low stress and excellent ductility, can be obtained and the acid copper plating can be omitted. Features The use of the PLAPLATE nickel process allows omission of the acid copper plating step from the traditional process, which brings the following merits in the aspect of equipment, productivity, and environment. 1.　 Compliance with environmental regulations, including the Automobile Recycling Law and the Law for Promotion of Effective Utilization of Resources, is accomplished because there is no copper in the plated film. 2.　 Reduction in a burden on wastewater treatment, water consumption, and a space for equipment is possible because of a reduction in the treatment steps. 3.　 Productivity is improved because of a reduction in the treatment steps.
